XRT Intelligent Sensor Sorting Machine (Coal and Gangue)

Working Principle

      ◎ Using a fully dry separation technology, coal and gangue can be accurately separated without water. The separation accuracy exceeds that of water washing (jigging) and can operate stably for a long time.

  ◎ This equipment uses X-ray sensing technology to identify differences in material composition, effectively solving the problems of high water consumption and environmental pollution in traditional water washing processes. It is suitable for coal washing scenarios in arid and water-scarce areas or with high environmental protection requirements, providing a new solution for the clean and efficient utilization of coal.

Application

  The XRT separator transports a mixture of coal and gangue via a conveyor belt, while an X-ray source emits rays that penetrate the material. Coal and gangue exhibit significantly different absorption and attenuation characteristics for X-rays. A dual-energy receiver collects the penetrating X-ray signals, which are then analyzed by an AI algorithm to accurately identify the differences between the two materials. When the target material reaches the sorting area, a pulse-jet system separates the gangue and coal. Depending on the ore properties, visible light or infrared cameras can be added for composite identification, further improving sorting accuracy.

Application Scenarios

◎ Applications in the coal industry

  Combined with descaling and washing processes, it can achieve the separation of 300-6mm thermal coal.

  It replaces jigging or heavy media coal preparation to achieve dry separation of 300-25mm lump coal.


◎ Coal recovery from gangue

  Suitable for the separation of coal and lignite in water-scarce areas. Also suitable for the separation of other non-coal minerals (such as kaolinite).

Technical Features

Precise Identification and Leading Sorting Accuracy

Innovatively employing charge-coupled device (CCD) time-delay aggregation technology optimizes X-ray transmission identification accuracy and adapts to multi-sensor combination schemes;

Key Indicators: Gangue with Coal Content 1-3%, Coal with Gangue Content 3-5%, accuracy approaching that of shallow trough sorting, far exceeding that of dry sorting equipment such as moving screens and jigs.


Rapid detection and outstanding processing efficiency

Detection efficiency: Acquires 1 million spectra per second, detects 40,000 ore pieces, with millisecond-level response time for irradiation-injection decisions;

Wide particle size adaptability: Processes 25-300mm raw coal (maximum feed 400mm), covering 25-50mm and 100-300mm ranges;

High capacity: Maximum single-unit processing capacity of 380t/h (XRT-4000 model), the 2.4m wide model processes 10-300mm ore up to 300t/h, a single unit can meet the needs of an 8Mt/a coal preparation plant.


Low energy consumption, worry-free investment and operation & maintenance

Low energy consumption: Single unit (e.g., XRT1200) installed power 140kW, energy consumption per ton of coal < 2kW;

Advantages: Low investment, low operating cost, short construction period, simple system structure, and fewer equipment units required.

Intelligent features: Supports system self-learning and fault self-diagnosis functions;

Dust removal design: Integrated cartridge dust collector, anti-static filter media, 0.5μm dust removal efficiency ≥ 99.9%, filtration velocity ≤ 1.2m/min;

Radiation safety: Class III radiation device (non-radioactive source), fully sealed lead plate shielding, radiation intensity around the equipment < 2.5μSv/h (approximately 1μSv/h at 1m), meeting international radiation explosion protection standards.
